In My Room

I've often heard
Though it sounds absurd
There's a certain kind of person
Who just to get a thrill...

Walks through the desert just for something to do
Flies through the skies with no parachute
Some folks climb to the highest mountain
Other folks bathe in Italian fountains.

Swim to the icy polar caps
Wearing nothing but shorts and a plastic cap
But I know a place where I can do all that.

In my room I have a stack of books
Where worlds unfold if I just look
In my room I can go anywhere
Just close my door and I am there
I can fight a ninja on my bed
All I have to do is just knock him on the head
There's nothing I can't do
In my room.

Some folks drag themselves to Timbuktu
Just to see a monkey wearing funny shoes
Some folks float all the way to China
For wonton soup in a Hong Kong diner.

They take lessons to be fluent in mouse
Or go to Spain to learn to sew a blouse
Well I can do all that without leaving my house.

I can have Christmas in June
Or build a rocket and walk on the moon
I can do what I want to

In my room - my lamp becomes an Eiffle Tower
In my room - my dog wears a cape and has special powers
In my room - I spend hours and hours
Deep in the jungle playing with all the boys and girls.
