Independent Realm

One eve I leave my village
to walk that muddy trail
Driven by curiosity
I follow the way to the vale

I hear strange melodies
in a tongue I can't understand
Is this my final survey
of being child to be a man?

Black blazes, hided faces
Wearing dark robes
and crosses around their necks
Holding books in their hands
to preach us their good word

Distrust your inner voices
Aim the truth - ignore the choices
Don't follow the words of false prophets

Year after year elapsed on our land
Their words are not more than runes written in sand
War and peace formed our behavior
We don't believe in their sacred saviour!
