So quiet not a sound
Before me only night.

Alone out at sea
With no land in sight.

I remember the day of our last goodbye.

So I can be reached by the rays of sun.

With all my deeds undone.

Sky and sea are suddenly meeting
In chaos dark and supreme.

And I feel my heart beating
My ship floats into a violent stream.

Part II (The Kraken)

Far beneath in my abysmal sea grave
I open up my eyes.

I've got you there in the calm of the storm's eye
I begin to rise.

I'm the giant, I am the ancient
Creature of the deep.

You are the blessed, you are the chosen
You disturbed my sleep.

And so we meet eye to eye
Through the green waves.

Seven long arms reach for the night sky
You're in my deadly grasp.

I will awake you into this nightmare
Just to hear you gasp.

Down, down into the rage of the night sea
We tumble on.

For a moment in a deadly embrace then
suddenly you're gone. And so we meet...

Deeper, sinking deeper
Life is fading, a calm is coming
I'm closing my eyes.

Mist is fading, dawn is coming
One man will rise
Lo and behold a miracle
The triumph of man over beast.

Part III (Bittersweet Victory) Narrative

He is alive still he wishes he had died
Along with the creature he'd just
Fought and won.

The sleep of the dead seems to him denied
Now after seeing his whole crew die
One by one.

Day after day with no wind and no tide
Surrounded by ghosts from a distant shore.

Night after night on the ocean he rides
Hands on the helm he steers to forevermore.

Epilogue
