Rome

I feel the cold wind on my skin
I see wandering clouds in the sky
Hostile they multiply
to the sound of the horn

How did we get here?
Where shadows devour light
and the oracles are silent ?
Though the our heavy shields
cannot stop the demons
we will fight for Rome

The Furies sit next to me
in the sleepless nights
Oh Gods
before the day’s end I wish could see
the waves lapping on the shore,
maybe peace is in poor things
without glory or fortune

I can see your maze of roads
as straight arms towards the end of the world
I can see how far are
your gardens with the lilies sacred to Juno

Barbarian legions from the north
they walk like shadows
they walk like spirits in the mist

Before the day’s end I would like to know
the winds direction driving Life and Death
embracing like sisters
dancing endlessly around the world
