The Trail to Nothingness

Treason, deceit
The instruments of greed and might
Once forged, once adapted
The truth gets lost behind
Value, worth
The constructs of life and death
The borders of sins
Only existent in your head

No breath of clean air anymore
The smoke of fire, it’s secret lore
So familiar, like I was once here
On the pedestal, the gate to eternity

The season, soon over
Last flake of snow
Falling between the raindrops
Melted slowly, losing structure
Like myself, my fate

And so, there’s my way
On the trail to nothingness
Far from any skylight
Far from any ache

My body guides my spirit
To the celestial shore
So as the flames take all of me
There will be a distant dream
Soon I’ll reach the other side
The side of forgotten souls
Still watching from above
From the inside, from below

Heat surrounds my eyes
I smell the burning wood
Feel my transition
Out of the ashes
Passing into the unknown
Into the unknown void

Take away the wounds I carry
All along this night the soreness never left me
I see you there in mourning with your eyes still shining
My morning star, I only weep for you…
