playing with the evening wind,
踏み込んだ宵闇の中
Fumikonda yoiyami no naka
step in the middle of the twilight.
「君ハ何処へ行クノ？」
“Kimi wa doko e yuku no?”
“Where are you going?”
狐の面が笑う
Kitsune no men ga warau
Smiles the fox's mask.
何処へでも連れて行って欲しい
Doko e demo tsurete itte hoshii
Please, take me wherever you want,
痛みの無い場所
Itami no nai basho
just let it be a painless place.
木々達は さらりと揺れて
Kibitachi wa sarari to yurete
The trees are moving gently
唇に露を落とす
Kuchibiru ni tsuyu wo otosu
dropping dew on my lips.
萤火が森を照らした
Hotarubi ga mori wo terashita
The fireflies light up the forest,
手を取って誘う狐
Te wo totte izanau kitsune
then the fox offers me his hand.
「君ト共ニ行クヨ」
“Kimi to tomo ni yuku yo”
“I'll come with you”
銀色の髪揺れる
Gin iro no kami yureru
His silver hair are swaying.
誓いの簪付けたら
Chikai no kanzashi tsuketara
If I'll take with me this vow's hairpin,
嘆きの無い場所へ
Nageki no nai basho he
we will go to a griefless place.
赤い鳥居をくぐり抜け
Akai torii wo kugurinuke
Overstepping that red gate,
石畳の其の先で
Ishidatami no sono saki de
just right on the flat stone paving,
歌う夜の子達
Utau yoru no kodomotachi
sing the children in the night:
鬼や鬼手の鳴るほうへ
Oni ya oni, te no naru hou he
“Demon, oh demon, come to our clapping”.
闇に浮かぶ彼岸花
Yami ni ukabu higanbana
Red spider lilies rise in the darkness,
紅い色契彩色
Kurenai iro chigiri iro
crimson red as the promises,
鮮やかに川を燃やし
Azayaka ni kawa wo moyashi
burning the river with their light,
帰り道もわからない
Kaeri michi mo wakaranai
making me lose even my way home.
誰からも触れてもらえず
Dare kara mo furete moraezu
No one ever touched me,
誰からも愛されずに
Dare kara mo aisarezu ni
no one ever loved me,
顏は黒く爛れて
Kanbase wa kuroku tadarete
with a shadow on my burning face,
只、隱し恥らうばかり
Tada, kakushi hajirau bakari
I tryed to hide the blushing…
「君ハ何ヲ視ルノ」
“Kimi wa nani wo miru no?”
“What are you looking at?”
狐の面が嘆く
Kitsune no men ga nageku
Sighs the fox's mask.
美しい心は白い
Utsukushii kokoro wa shiroi
With amazement, my candid heart,
胸に光っている
Mune ni hikatteiru
is shining brightly in my chest.
夜に咲く鬼火の群れ
Yoru ni saku onibi no mure
Crowds of will-o'-the-wisps bloom in the night,
祝言を祝う鴉
Shuugen wo iwau karasu
crows come to celebrate the wedding,
淚声囁く声
Namidagoe sasayakugoe
but a desperate voice whispers:
嗚呼、後ろの正面だぁれ
Aa, ushiro no shoumen dare?
Ah, but who is behind the mask?
震える手離さないで
Furueru te hanasanaide
Don't let go of my shaking hand:
貴方が居れば其れで良い
Anata ga ireba sore de ii
“If I'm with you everything is fine”
揺れる影が交差する
Yureru kage ga kousasuru
The two quivering shadows entwined together,
切ない声一つに成る
Setsunai koe hitotsu ni naru
and their lament became one.
