Cards with Mephisto

It was the evening of my fate
My ancient castle (now I hate)
Became a shelter of the sin
But I was blind, I craved to win...
It was the evening, Saturday
The very eve of sainted day
I asked my servant for the game
And he accepted it (in vain)

Let's play, Mephisto, midnight rolls!
I see your shadow slowly crawls
Tonight we'll set my soul aflame
And sink in passion of this game
And I was playing like the mad
But suddenly my servant said:
"My Lord, it's midnight! Stop your whim!"
And I grew anger, I have screamed:

"I am the Count! I will play
Until the Devil joins my game!"
And at this moment door unlocked
A man in black came in to rock

The stranger asked me for the set
He made a bet with rubies, red
And we began this endless game
That turned for me into the shame
Since then I'm cursed and every day
He comes at midnight for the play
My soul is burning, I am trapped
Within eternal hellish gap...
