Conquer The Straits

You've lied to us, captain
You've not put back north
For home, as you said last time
If we keep on our course
Then all will be lost
You lead us to pass through the straits?

The wind, the spray was relentless
The captain mirrored the sea
Buffeting gales, pushed them westward.

A roar from the captain
A man without fear
Mutiny here will not stand
As quick as a fox
He hurled the usurper
To sea, to think over his crimes.

This voyage must last
For the prince has a task
A dark, ancient evil awaits
We must now conquer the straits.

Three days in the tempest
It behested, not bested
The men who would die
For their prince.

Storm break, lights bathed down
Reprisal from the fight
Take a look, you bloody sea rats
The straits are in sights.

Dead starboard came great dark shapes
Giant monoliths of stone and black ice
Above boiled clouds, dark, thundery shrouds
Ocean twisters, touched lightning that fell
Ah, don't you love it - the bite of the wind
The notion we might not survive
A cackle of laughter.

The captain, the bastard
Greets death with a grin
Rising, still rising, for what seemed like days.

A mammoth dark wave
Breached tumultuously out watery graves
Out watery graves.

Down to the ground
With a fierce, cracking sound
Went the captain in front of the prince
Their eyes met in union
And both felt the spark
Men who knew what it was to face death
Mad laughter came next
From both of them
They entered an instinct won trance
Like a demonic dance
They fenced with the sea gods intent
Every sense was on fire
Then suddenly clear skies shone.
