Distant Stars

Always watching the horizon hoping to find a sign
These eyes are getting weary, my thoughts are lost in time.

I've seen new worlds born and shattered to dust
Everlasting flames go out, it's useless to fight or shout.

Forever on this journey, travelling so far
My quest is never-ending, to find the distant stars
Forever on the journey, time and space will bend
Infinity is overwhelming, this will never end.

Always trying to reach further hoping to find my way
I'm just a feather flying in the black and lifeless sky.

I've seen the destruction and how it devours space
No matter where I go I cannot win this race.

Only a grain of sand falling in an hourglass
What the eyes can't see, is it even real?
