For Whom Burnest Thou

From the northernmost peaks
Into the vale of sorrow
Betwixt the Pillars of Boreas
A darkness stirs beyond.

From across the plains of ice
And over the hills of dread
The Blood of the North rises
A final raid over the land.

A blaze in the blackened sky
As herald of ancient pride
A guide for the hordes to stride
A last march to light the pyres.

Ice-cold Darkness
Enshrouds my longing mind
Altar of elder purity
Soil and blood enshrined.

When the flames rise
And foes lay slain on sour ground
Purified by perennial fire
The plague of Shem exiled.

And I, channeling the Void
To behold the endless funeral
I light a beacon of Holocaust
Gateway to Isolation.

Herald of the turning wheel
passing of cursed time
A blaze in the blackened night
a standard for those who stride
Flesh shed across the ice, cast beyond
into the skies
Carving runes into my skin
Omens for the ending wars .
