These people say I got an ego
But I'm just an honest equal
I'm not the same J from the past

But I'm better than before
That first tape was rough
Labeled was the name
I told myself it's enough
I was so fucking excited to release it to the mass
When I put it out on blast, I fell on my ass, it sucked.

But I learned from my mistakes
And did it better the next time
Quickly put in work
Then slowly watching the checks climb.

I learned to produce
And man, that was some shit
Within a couple months
I had the hang of it.

I tried it back at home
And I thought I was slick
It actually made it on the album
Cause I thought it was sick.

Then everything slowly changed
I noticed people ain't the same
They started switching up
When I started making a name.

I performed my first show
Started selling some merch
It was finally happening
Ironic, I'm lost for words.

Now it's only gotten bigger
Everything is moving quicker
Gotta keep topping myself
To prove that I can hang with pictures.

Till they got em on their wall
This kid has shown up
I ain't different, I'm just better
I guess I've just grown up.
