Incident

Just at that moment my life was made up
I could have gone either way
It just happend to turnout that way
Two different paths calling out
To a young and impressionable boy
Not knowing that thing would change my life forevermore
So without giving it a second thought, I followed my friend home.

I followed the one who pulled hardest on my sleeve.

At first it was just play
But for some of us it was more than that
It was reality unfolding, We played soldiers, it was just play
But what is apparent for me now: It was school
We were growing up to become what was expected of us
We played as we were cheerd on by the elders watching from above.

We played and killed each other
But to soon our game turned in to something more lifelike
What good soldiers you will be, we were told
Soon you will play for real, helping the cause and fighting for real
What cause I said to myself, I'm just having fun.

Now I am respectable man with honor and valour to be won.
