Ode To The Flames

“The great fire of Rome raged out of control for over a week.
Hundreds of thousands lost their homes or fell victim to the flames.
Nero allegedly lit the fire himself, to make room for his golden house.”

What happened to you, my precious Rome?
Your brilliant shine, where is it gone?
Oh dirt and garbage populates your streets
Unimportant rabble with nonentity dreams.

A purulent ulcer out of control
spreads like an illness in my town
I can no longer stand to look away
The time has come to erase this shame.

It´s my creation day
I build with fire
With an ode to the flames
I burn this hideous ground
It´s my creation day

From the ashes Rome shall rise
So beauteous and proud.

It´s up to me to build a work of art
A palace worthy of an emperor
Mosaics made of gems and ivory
The scent of roses replace the reek
Marmoreal halls, fountains and busts
Lined with lush gardens and clean paths
Domus Aurea, my golden house
For all times a proof of my genius.

Rome you flower among the cities
Oh my precious
Your beauty has faded away, but you will rise again
Born again through the purifying flames
So burn for me, burn, burn
BURN!!
