Tears in the Storm

On the top of a hill a man looked to the coast and cried
With his wounded arms he embraced his beloved child
Under the trees everything was reddened with blood
Blood-soaked were their clothes; axes and shields lay aside

My child, hang on, see you are not alone
We're riding to the promised land - all sorrow is gone

Father I know that my time is near
I go to Valhalla and I have no fear
I take my place beneath Oden's throne
And don't shed a tear when I'm gone
They will be carried away by the storm

The father took his son on his saddled horse
They reached their hallowed village before the sky obscured
Suddenly a voice appeared from the kingdom of the gods
The light veiled in clouds and the son whispered his last words
