The Final Journey (Part II)

On the seventh night of the starless sky, when the moon sparked land alight
She came to me, all cloaked in black on the coldest winter night
She said to me, “Sleep my child, til dawn is upon thee.
That is when you will set out to sail across the seas.”
My head laid down, but my mind uneased, I think of the next day
What can I expect to find, and can I make the way?
I drift away in nervous sleep and dream about my quest
After tonight I know now there's no more time to rest.

I'll sail away in the morning sun, all my battles are to be won
Across the seas, I'll venture forth, adventures await in the distant north
I will bring great tales, and drink fine ales the day I return
But when I leave, for my homeland I know my heart will yearn.

I pack my things, and head out to sea with my sturdy ship
In the wind, back and forth my giant sails whip
To the destined promised land, I am on my way
I sail across the northern sea all through this long day
The brightened sun shining down on me in the blue sky
I know my quest will bring victory, as long as I try
Onwards I go, towards my goal, as the reddened sun now sets
Now I know, I'm getting close; soon I start my quest.
