As Embers Fade

Cast me down beyond the fallen
Turn me from your doors
I'm the beast of many burdens
Or so the story goes.

Broken hands beneath, lift me free, from your shattered seas
Never break what lies within, I came for all to see
Why will no one here, stem their fear? Lift these chains from me
Through the grey there stands but one, who dared to hold my gaze.

See me, speak your words and free me
I can give so much
To a world that lies in ashes
Release me with your touch.

So I stand before shattered courts as only one approached
“Say my name and I shall reign, your pain will go away”
“He is cursed!” they cried “All shall die!”
He gazed into my eyes
“Valendries I set you free, now may your will be done”
We watched the flames as embers fade
The dying light yet one remains
The glow of night, fills my life again for the world is ours tonight
The promise I have made tonight, I make right
The promise made to change your ways, light the way.

So at last they see
