Beneath The Waning Skies

I wrote, down the final lines
A life I put to rest, left the past that I detest
It seems, hopeless and contrived
The hold it has on me I can never let it be
And so, misery arrives
When will is dissipate, as I fall into my broken memories.

And to what end?
As I wade through another hopeless day, to see it all, collapse before me
And to what end?
Given life to what never should have been
Another hope, left in this world to fade.

My eyes, hide a thousand scars
Conceal the shades of me, I could never let you see
I fell, spiraled ever more
The chains that bind my hands, ever cursed by your demands
Once more, misery arrives
And so I welcome you, it's the only life, that I ever knew.

For a past left behind
To a sin trapped in time
Memories of waning skies, all I see, is the night
Nightmares seen to believe
Dim these thoughts, carry me
Fading light, hard to see
The sky that wanes now for me
Forever I lie, beneath waning skies.
