The Curse Of Heoroth

Bark on waves under the lee of a cliff
Iron-clad warriors embarked on a quest
Beyond the horizon in the land of the Danes
To aid the House of Hrothgar, to ease the unrest
Sail was set against fierce winds
Timbers smashed with foam on the prow
Beacons were lit as the ship approached the land
Set foot in their kinland with shield and sword in hand.

Greeted they were in the Hall of the Kings
To the music of the fiddle as the minstrel sings
The account of Grendel to Beowulf was told
Of how the savage creature slew the kings of old
A warrior of legends from the seas would come
Master of warcraft and Grendel would overcome
To Hrothgar an oath Beowulf proudly made
On first light of dawn all their fears would fade.

To the sky horns of mead were raised
The warrior rejoiced as he was praised

The Hall now resounded in A furious clash
Grendel berserk, swelled with Insanity
A shriek of pain bedazzled the hearts of the Danes
As Beowulf ripped off the arm of the monstrosity.

After a bloody contest between two titans

For all people to witness this heroic act
For he spake truth when boasted of his feats
Of courage and valour of their Kinsmen Geats.

In the lake of demons, Grendel did lay
His ancestral fathers would curse this day
When their envoy from darkness, slain by son of man
Joined his cursed brothers in the molten seas of hell.
