The Evening Red

I´ve felt them coming down the stars pulled from the sky
In tandem with the ways your eyes still set steady soul alight
Though years drift past me like procession of the sun
These walls still echo time we scratched the face of god.

Thoughts and times once crystal clear now lie beyond the smoke
Obscured by days
Days without life, meandering flesh
Shields not the soul and bangs off the bones decay.

Why can´t the night snuff out the morning
And bind my youth and past
Then slowely drag them back
From whence they came.

Somewhere lying in these fields rest cairns at summer´s gates
Atop the ashen mental embers
And yielding autumn´s heed and call
Doze in solemn slumber
As thorugh the glass next seasons hand grasp leaves on the branch in the grey the grey ...

At time I find my seld gasping for air
And pining for those bygone days we chased the nights and brought the rain
Before lights on the path shall lead me towards the end.

I´ll note how fires in the west reflect our time spent
In the evening reed.
