What does the cold rain whisper?
Where do the empty and gloomy streets go?
On the old facades of houses
The shadows play the dumb games.

Your dismal sadness in the glowing twilight
Excites the restless souls of poets
And takes them to the distance of the bay
There is enough space for pain and hope.

As if the wind and autumn
Never left this place, full of mysteries and ghosts
From this thoughtful city
On the border of the majestic north.

When the blood was flowing
Over the stones
Of your wide paves
It was raining again...
Epochs changed
But your image did not fade.

The ghost
Of the emperor
Is wandering around
The empty hall
On the squares
In the howls of the wind
There are constant screams
Of the rebel crowd.

The strict sphinx remembers everyone
The quiet alleys hide old secrets and
Memories rush like dreams, but the cradle
Of the empire gently keeps them.
