The Song Of Bograd

Motherland is full of sorrow
The Ground and forests blaze at dusk
And black crows take away the souls of warriors
To the heaven forever.

In the last holy battle
The knight bravely fought
He gave his life for his Land
And soon that grave became bed of honor.

And the night has fell to the ground
Filled with pain and mud
Where the wounded groan, love dies
There fates are marked with blood.

But woman’s hands saved his life from oblivion and death
Thus the light of her love he did not forget
Her soul and heart helped to survive in spite of Mara’s breath
Soon he recovered and returned all his strength.

Russ was scorched by the war and lost her sons, so daughters were called to the deadly battle
His savior took up arms and went to fight; she stood to death with old warriors in her saddle
All this time he was looking for her, and once he saw a foe aim his spear at his love
Beat and pain, and he just managed to catch the deadly wounded girl, covered with a divine crown.

And the knight smiled at the Sun, touching the ground with his soul
