For so long now, my prayers have gone unheard
Every waking hour, every whispered word
A single answer, one frail reply
Would be the only thing I ask of you tonight.

This confession, brings me to my knees, taking the last thing I had to believe.

How did I ever fall so far? How did I let it fall apart?
How did it ever come to this? How did I let it slip away?

Fragments of faith, are all that remain
Traces of something I cannot reclaim
Fragments of faith, I cannot replace
And now I don't believe in you.

The night grows darker, without you by my side
The road seems longer, without you as my guide
The path before me, has faded to grey
And in your absence, I have lost my way.

This temptation, never seems to pass
Longing for something that I can never have.

How can I face it all again? How can I bring it to an end?
How can I ever let you go? How can I face it all alone?

Fragments of my shattered faith, scattered on this barren ground
In the absence of your grace, there is no solace to be found.
