Sawney's Hunger

When the sun goes down
In the Firth of Clyde
You’re better off dead
Than caught roaming in the wild…

Pale lantern lights
Like fiendish eyes at night
Emerge from a reeking cave
By the whispering shoreline.

Sawney Bean is out to hunt
Along with his ungodly clan
They hunger for the flesh
Of upright goats without horns!

Laying ambush by moonlight
They murder, maim and rend
To redden their perverse maws
And fill their bellies to the brim with gore!

Disappearing in the night
Many a man, woman and child
Ended up in pieces and in brine
Hung in Sawney’s grisly pantry…

Sawney Bean is out to hunt
Along with his ungodly clan
They hunger for the flesh
Of upright goats without horns!

Yet corpses piled called for revenge:
Four hundred men with burning brands
Inside the grisly cave of death did march
And clapped in irons the whole cannibal clan…

No trial for the wicked
Not quarter or reprieve
The executioner of Glasgow
Ended Sawney’s hunger with his steel!
